Hi everybody.
I missed posting the last couple weeks; I was under the weather trying to survive but the good news is my assistant Kregg Bush and our excellent crew kept the course up very well for you.
We recently started opening up fairway cuts to change the feel more than playability. For example, bringing the fairway cut back 20 yards on several holes and in some cases making the fairway wider near greens. If you come and play what you will see is light brown areas. This is the process of cutting the turf shorter than it’s used to.
On Monday 7-27 after play, we lightly aerated with 3/8” tines on greens and topdressed and rolled. This has very little disruption on the greens and they still roll smoothly. The whole process should disappear in a week. I might add that even though the greens are a little slower they are still rolling about 9. After a week we should have them back to 10 to 10-1/2.
