Patrick Parrish
Patrick Parrish has had a lifelong passion for the game of golf which grew as a member of the #1 UCLA Bruins in the early 1980s alongside future PGA Tour stars Corey Pavin and Steve Pate.
He graduated from UCLA in 1984 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He proceeded to the University of California-Berkeley where he earned both a Bachelor’s (1986) and Master’s Degree (1988) in English Literature. Following his junior and collegiate success, he benefitted from working with several of the “Top 100” golf instructors and has had the opportunity to teach four PGA Tour winners and five Champions Tour players. He has also taught over 40 local juniors, several of whom have gone on to impressive collegiate and professional careers.
Patrick works diligently not only to improve his breadth of instructional knowledge, but also to give back to the junior community. In addition to becoming Titleist Performance Institute, Golf Machine, and Impact Zone Certified, he has also served on the AT&T Junior Golf Association Board of Directors.
At Poppy Hills, Patrick also works as the Group Coordinator and is responsible for scheduling and coordinating over 300 tournament group outings per year.
Teaching Philosophy: My teaching specializes on mechanics and recognizing a student’s unique physical characteristics and how they relate to an individual’s overall swing. With testing developed by the Titleist Performance Institute for Tour Professionals, I can recognize the body’s limitations surrounding flexibility, range of motion and strength. This gives me a platform to address the necessary changes for optimal performance. I will design a personal workout, practice and play routine that will improve the swing and game of golfers of all levels.
Lessons: Patrick offers lessons to golfers of all ages and abilities. Patrick also does corporate clinics and has worked alongside PGA Tour stars like Johnny Miller, Ken Venturi, David Feherty, and David Duval. Please contact Patrick for rates and lesson packages.
